  1. <^Direct and Alternating Current>     Electric current is electric charges on the move. But current can move in two ways. Direct current (<#5637,5139><!DC>) moves directly. That is, it moves in one direction. Batteries put out direct current.
  2.      Alternating current (<#5638,5138><!AC>) flows first in one direction and then the other direction. It switches direction really fast, over and over. It goes back and forth about 50 to 60 times per second.
  3.      Household current is AC electricity. Many <#5971,22><!generators> make AC electricity. And many electric <#5972,21><!motors> use AC electricity.
